TellyHear began with a frustration our founder Lachlan kept hearing from clients:
“why did this take me so long?” On average, Australians wait seven years before doing
something about their hearing, usually because the process feels intimidating,
transactional, or designed to sell rather than help.
We set out to build the opposite. An unhurried first conversation, a full clinical
assessment with the time it actually needs, honest options including the option to do
nothing, and ongoing care from people you’d be happy to see again. No pushy upgrades,
no jargon, no sales targets, just clear, expert advice built around your hearing.
Today we look after thousands of Australians this way, online right across the country
and in person at our Melbourne clinics, bringing the precision and one-on-one attention
you’d expect in a clinic straight to your living room.
Meet Lachlan Smith
Lachlan is the founder and head audiologist at TellyHear, and the person personally behind
every hearing aid we fit. With more than 15 years in clinical practice, a Master of Clinical
Audiology and full membership of Audiology Australia, he has helped thousands of Australians
hear clearly again. Because he knows every major brand inside out, his advice is genuinely
independent, tied only to what helps you rather than to any particular product.
